What the first-home campaign makes possible

Our $4 million goal covers the whole launch: a property, a home ready for residents, and the first year of care and daily operations.

    Acquire a suitable property for the first Who’s Hungry transitional home.

    Make it a home.

    Renovate, complete required safety work, furnish the rooms and prepare shared spaces.

    Fund the first year.

    Provide the staffing, meals, utilities, insurance and upkeep needed while the home gets established.

YEAR TWO & BEYOND

Our aim is to reach the occupancy and recurring income needed to cover the home’s costs in year two. Once the first home is stable, we plan to fundraise for the next property—bringing the same housing, meals and employment focus to more men coming home. Any operating surplus stays with Who’s Hungry to strengthen reserves and support future projects.

Food with purpose.

The founders’ work feeding people experiencing homelessness through St. Joseph Center helped inspire Who’s Hungry. This independent nonprofit focuses on men returning from prison. Bread & Roses Café is a St. Joseph Center program, not a Who’s Hungry service.

James brings experience from kitchens with Chef Michele Ragussis and daily service at Bread & Roses Café in Venice.
